What is Kansas City BCycle?
Kansas City BCycle is a program of BikeWalkKC, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that advocates and educates for walking and biking. Bike sharing is designed for short trips in the city. It is a fun and convenient way to experience everything KC has to offer, transforming the city into a healthier, more livable, and economically competitive place to live, work, and play.
Kansas City Bcycle is a public/private/nonprofit partnership. Major funding is provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City; the City of Kansas City, MO; the Mid-America Regional Council; the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City; and numerous corporate partners and individual donors.
BikeWalkKC is the unified voice for active living, promoting a healthy, safe and accessible outdoor experience for all in a vibrant, engaged community. BikeWalkKC is a member-supported organization that works to make Greater Kansas City a safer and more accessible place to walk, bicycle, live, work, and play. The advocacy programs work with local cities to improve policies and build sidewalks, trails, crosswalks, bike lanes, and more. BikeWalkKC’s education programs give people the knowledge and skills to walk and to bicycle safely and confidently for transportation, recreation, and fitness.
